Sean Curley has accepted that his newfound powers cannot be denied. With that new confidence, he makes the decision to pursue the woman he loves, Breena of the Tuatha De Danann, to her homeland in order to free her from apparent captivity. His companions, however, have decisions to make. With Sullivan Nichols injured from their last violent encounter, he and others will seek healing on an island reputed to have great power.
The Grumbles, the core group of friends from New York, must part ways. As some pursue healing and others pursue their foes. Both paths lead them to the state of Maine, where Sean will seek to find his was through the Otherworld to the realm of The Peripherals, the beings who exist on the edges of human perception.
