Dee's Mystery Solvers: Witch Cat

Marty Sullivan's black cat, Edgar, mysteriously appears at the most unusual times and in the least expected places. For the others in Dee's Mystery Solvers Club, they suspect the cat is somehow magical. What they don't know is Marty has kept personal secrets from his sister, Dee, and the other club members for some time.

Revealing his haunting secrets demands his deepest hidden courage. For several years after he found Edgar, Marty's had the ability to see and talk to ghosts, which is something Dee has longed to do. What she believes would be a gift, Marty knows to be a curse. He also fears their ridicule should they not believe he possesses such talent. Though the oldest member of Dee's Mystery Solvers, he doesn't want to be mocked. But, he can no longer keep his gift to himself, not after a sinister ghost attacked and left him with visible scars. He fears for their safety.

After Marty comes clean about seeing ghosts, he tells Dee his ghost-seeing ability came after he found Edgar in the haunted, Tangled Forest old cemetery. A place he vowed to never return. However, Dee stubbornly votes to solve how Marty can see ghosts and if it truly correlates with his bond with the cat.

Against his warning and his wishes, the other three Mystery Solvers outvote him and threaten to go without him if necessary. Reluctantly, for their protection, Marty agrees, but inwardly he faces his greatest fear. Returning to the forest could cause him to lose Edgar forever because the cat's true owner is a ghost. The ghost of a witch.
