Who is This Book For?This book has been written for the beginner. The emphasis is numerical, arithmetic, some mathematics and some statistics. The idea is that you want to record and analyse some data, including creating charts or graphs and tables and other basic things. If you need to carry out such analysis, this book is for you.The materials used in the book are largely aimed at business analysis but if you are a scientist or engineer, you can still use this book by finding and adapting your own examples to fit what we do here.What Tools do you Need for This Book?To use this book you need time, space and a computer that runs Excel 2007 and/or Excel 2010 software. We have written this book partly on a MacBook Pro computer that has Excel:mac 2011 installed and this book even copes with much of that.Other than computer and software, your time and energy are the keys to your progress.Although you are presented with a large number of examples and cases throughout the book, you are not only free but encouraged to use your own examples to explore every topic and sub topic. In fact, that's the point. We would be delighted to hear from you as you tell me that you worked through this book and having done so, you were able to conquer your own in built barriers to success up until that time.
