Ghost Writer: A Cozy Mystery with a Ghostly Twist

Ghosts. Can't live with them, can't make them cross over...

Everly Dupree is neck-deep in trying to solve Davina Benet's murder when self-proclaimed paranormal investigator Delilah Cannon rolls into Mooselick River, determined to crack the case first.

While Everly believes the killer is connected to one of Davina's missing persons cases, Delilah insists the murderer is a local. And as usual, Davina's ghost is being spectacularly unhelpful about the whole thing.

Then Delilah turns up dead before she's even had time to unpack her suitcase, leaving Everly with a chilling realization-maybe the irritating investigator had been right all along.

With two ghosts now haunting her and Thanksgiving plans crumbling faster than day-old cornbread, Everly races to connect the dots. The evidence points to one killer for both victims, but the list of suspects grows longer by the minute.

As news of Everly's ghostly abilities spreads through town like wildfire, she finds herself in the spotlight she's always dreaded. Now she must solve this double homicide before her reputation-or worse, her life-becomes the next casualty.

In a town this small, everyone's a suspect. And this time, not even the dead are telling the truth.

Things are heating up!

Things are heating up! There was a moment in this book that is like in the movie “Ghost” (No, not THAT part! 😉) Davina is still around though. We’ve gotten familiar with her due to the fact she’s been in three books now! Let’s take care of this, people! Everly was focused on solving a different murder than just Davina’s in the previous book. The last book was over 400 pages, but all of the pages were necessary to the story and it wasn’t all slow going, so that’s good. It took me longer than normal to read it only because I didn’t focus on full days of reading. We haven’t learned much about Davina because she’s so tight-lipped. She’s no help at all in solving her murder. Maybe she just doesn’t want it solved. Perhaps she enjoys being a ghost too much. I also had another thought - maybe her killer is a family member or a friend and she doesn’t want the person to be caught. A secret about Davina’s past surfaces and Everly has to make a tough decision about whether or not she wants to tell Davina she knows. Everly also has to decide how and when the secret should be presented. We are left on another cliff hanger, so I hope the next book wraps everything up and I hope Everly doesn’t have Davina do what she’s asked her to do. Next is book 10 in the Haunted Everly After: “Christmas Wraith”.
