The extraordinary true story of Desmond Doss [Andrew Garfield] who, in Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of WWII, saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun. He was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon, as he believed that while the war was justified, killing was nevertheless wrong. As an army medic, he single-handedly evacuated the wounded from behind enemy lines, braved fire while tending to soldiers and was wounded by a grenade and hit by snipers. Doss was the first conscientious objector awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor.

It is believable because the story was based on true incidents. The actors were believable. Well filmed.
This is the story of Desmond T. Doss, a conscientious objector who still needed to do his part in the war to save lives.
At first glance, the movie seems a bit slow; this is because they took the time to lay out the backstory and flesh out the people involved.
Later, it looks like they padded the story with excess gore; once again, there is not a gratuitous moment as each scene depicts an event in Desmond Doss’s life and actions. This includes the lives around him.
You can feel Director Mel Gibson’s style in the production.
There are some cameos of the real people involved at the end of the story.
Desmond T. Doss becomes the first man in American history to receive the Medal of Honor without firing a shot.

It Is A Dvd. I Loved The Story Line, He Never Gave Up And Did Not Touch A Weapon, But Saved Over 40 Men Single Handedly While He Was Wounded. He Received The Congressional Medal Of Honor Because Of Saving Those Men Without A Weapon. He Just Never Gave Up!! He Kept Saying: Just One More, God. And Got Up And Saved Another Man. I Was Abused In All Ways Posible, Had 23 Years Of Psychotherapy Off & On Starting At 46 Years Old, And Never Gave Up. I Am 95% Recovered From C-Ptsd, Anxiety Disorder, Startle Response & Panic Attacks.
