All learning begins with the basics. Prepare your first grader for future math success as he or she counts, adds, subtracts, and learns number place values. This workbook follows the Principles and Standards for School Mathematics, published by the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), teaching and reinforcing the math skills that your first grader needs to practice the most. The fun-friendly drawings help ease anxieties as math becomes colorful and more realistic. Give your child a solid math foundation with the School Zone Workbook Advantag
If your child is getting bored in class, this series is an excellent way to challenge them and help them stay interested. Easy to use with clear and complete directions that are readily understood by second graders. A motivated seven year old could do two or three pages a day, three or four days a week and be done in two months with almost no assistance (I've watched this). Allowing the child to work until the material challenges them seems to be a good way to find out what they can really do. The book comes with a comprehensive test at the end, to see if the youngling is ready for the next book or not. In this case, the youngling in question has passed with flying colors and gone on the the next book. Great learning tool for sharp kids! E. M. Van Court
