This book is full of requires stuff that every massage student should know. I liked the chapters on hygiene, body mechanics and business practices. The book reads in a pretty technical way. So, yes, it's quite wordy, but it is pretty complete. All in all, one of the needed books to study from for the National Certification Exam. Other required books for Massage National Certification Exam PREPARTION ARE: Patrick Leonardi's "The Ulitimate Study Guide for the National Certicfication for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, volumes 1,2 & 3. This has wonderful questions that helped to keep me on track.

This book is an excellent reference for massage students. It is well-organized and easy to comprehend. It is good as a knowledge source for information look up on pathology and clinical aspects of massage. However for the National certification test I used the following: The Ultimate Study Guide for the National Certification Examination for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork: Key Review Questions and Answers Vol 1, Vol 2, and Vol 3 Vol 1: isbn: 0971999643Vol 2: isbn: 0971999651Vol 3: isbn: 097199966XBelieve me these four books are well worth it for the national certification exam. The last three books were so specific and thorough which prepared me highly for the national exam.
