Detailed Insight Into the 18th Century Royal Navy

This is an outstanding work on the life and times of the Royal Navy in Nelson's time. The technical aspects of each ship as well as the lives of the men that served on these ships is covered in minute detail giving the naval history enthusiast a valuable reference work. Of particular interest is the fate of each ship, something that is relatively unknown in most works of a similar nature. Of particular interest is the detailed records kept at the time and the fact that they have survived to the present day thus giving the ordinary sailor a name and a place in history even if it was for breaking the rules.

This is my favourite book on the ships of the age of sail not only because of its great artwork but also because of the explanations that even simpletons like me can understand. I love this book and you will too.
