New Year, Whose Kiss
I know her name is Brea, and I know she wasn't an invited guest at the gala. This year, or any other year. How can I be so certain? I've hacked into the files of our event organizer and searched over ten years of records.
She was in my arms as the countdown to the new year began. I could already feel the shifting energy of the midnight kiss I was ready to claim. To undo the bad luck of the past few weeks. The instant before my lips captured hers and took back my good fortune, Brea had slipped out of my grasp and disappeared.
