this book drew me in from the very beginning - it was a very dicey time in the south and these two main characters were very realistic in their thoughts and actions toward each other - was a little disappointed in the ending, but that is the way life goes. Only problem with the book was that a couple of the chapters were in the book upside down, but I got over it.
