Anthony's Story: the KILL SQUAD

The Central Intelligence Agency has an obscure, highly secret, department of trained assassins, known internally as the Kill Squad. These agents murder persons considered a threat to national security on orders of the President of the United States. The life story of Anthony Moretti and his love affair with Bethany Hamilton begins with his childhood in the tough, crime infested, Italian section of the Bronx. Following high school, he enters a career with the Army Special Forces, but must resign to care for his parents. When the family business is lost, financial circumstances lead him to arson, murder, and work as an unsavory loan shark enforcer. His skill at the game of poker results in a lasting friendship with Nucci, a New York mafia underboss. Nucci's unusual offer to two financially desperate students leads to the improbable circumstance of Anthony meeting Bethany, a beautiful, intelligent, sometimes sassy, soon-to-be lawyer. The flames of their romance continue to burn while Anthony searches for a way into a respectable and financially sound life with Bethany. While the Kill Squad is secret, even more secret is the arrangement with some mafia organizations to recruit assassins. Through Nucci, Anthony accepts a contract for government murders. He will be highly paid and, upon contract completion, will have a letter from the CIA cleansing his unsavory past. When his government obligation is complete, money in the bank, and letter in hand, Bethany leaves her Boston law firm to join him for island life. Their marriage merges into their years in love, with nothing but happiness ahead. That is, if they can escape in the chilling conclusion.
