Zechariah God Remembers: A Digging Deeper Bible Study

The book of Zechariah was written during a very difficult time in the nation of Israel's history. Feeling forgotten by God due to the difficult circumstances the people faced daily, the remnant of Jews who had returned from Babylonian captivity to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem were in need of encouragement. They had given up and ceased to do the work God had called them to do. The prophet Zechariah, whose name means "God Remembers," was sent to encourage the Jewish remnant and promote spiritual revival that culminated in serving God wholeheartedly. This book is the longest of the twelve "Minor Prophets" and contains visions, messages, and apocalyptic oracles. Using a literal, historical, grammatical interpretation of the Scripture allows the Bible student to understand the authorial intent of these visions and apply it to their daily living. The faithfulness of God to the nation of Israel is seen throughout the book of Zechariah.
